How to Create a Marketing Funnel?
A marketing F-what? If you have no clue what a marketing funnel is, then don’t worry, I got you girl! Simply put, a digital marketing funnel is essentially the way you design your marketing to gently guide your potential clients or customers into becoming aware of you or your business, to then eventually buying what you have to offer. You want this process to be as smooth and easy as possible, in order to make the most out of your marketing efforts. This goes from building awareness about your brand, to educating people about how your brand could provide a solution to a problem they may have or a service they may need and then explaining why your product is the best solution.
There are multiple different funnels you can use throughout your business, but this blog will focus on creating one driving traffic from either Instagram or Facebook using a freebie/lead magnet.
Follow this step-by-step guide on how to create a marketing funnel!
The steps in a marketing funnel could be:
Create a banging freebie (aka opt-in or lead magnet)
An educational pdf that gives free advice to your customers on topics surrounding your business (this will depend on who you are targeting). For example, your top 10 tips for being a photographer, or 5 things you should do to live vibrantly. You can create this in Canva with all your own branding, so it stands out and looks professional. Make this downloadable on your website or Google drive.
If you’d rather, you can also use a free webinar, challenge or video series as a freebie.Create an easy to use landing page
Make a landing page on a platform like ConvertKit (affiliate link), MailChimp or Kartra for example. Have them sign up to your newsletter in order to download the freebie. I am using ConvertKit and I'm very happy with them.Create a stand-out social media ad or post
Using Canva you can create enticing branded content. I usually like to include some of the advice or one tip from what will be included in the freebie to lead into the link to the landing page where they will sign up for your newsletter and then be sent your freebie. It should be informative and trust inducing!Automated emails
Set up an automated email sequence with around 5 emails to send to the people that have signed up for your freebie. Start with introducing yourself and reminding them to download/watch the freebie. Usually this email sequence also leads to selling, usually a low cost product/service to start with. These first few emails could also include advice or content you’ve previously created where you’ve provided advice and tips on topics included in the services or business you provide.Follow up on sales
If they buy something you can upsell them another more expensive offer. You can create different database categories, depending on what someone buys, so you can target the right emails to the right audience.Be consistent
Also keep emailing your audience with value and offers, however don’t spam them. The value of having your email database means if anything is to ever to your social media platforms, you’ll always have access to your clients/customers.
Make sure you have your sales page made for your paid offer, so the flow from beginning to end works smoothly and you make the most of the traffic heading to your website. If you need help creating a funnel that’s going to generate you sales or genuine leads.
